About Protective Behaviours

The Protective Behaviours Program in Western Australia is coordinated by Protective Behaviours WA Incorporated. PBWA(Inc) is managed by a board of volunteers.

PBWA (Inc) is represented by two members on the National Committee, Protective Behaviours Australia. Justine O'Malley (National President) and Andrea Musulin (National Committee member).

Training workshops are conducted during the year in Perth and throughout Western Australia. PBWA (Inc) also conducts briefing sessions which outline the program.

Justine has been a Protective Behaviours advocate and trainer for the past 10 years. She specialises  in the areas of early childhood, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and children who have experienced trauma.

Justine has trained service providers and teachers across the State including the Kimberley, Pilbara and Western Desert.  In January 2008 she spent 2 weeks in Kuwait training teachers in the Protective Behaviours Program.

Justine is the author of the popular Protective Behaviours story book,"Jasmine's Butterflies". Most importantly she is Mother to 2 year old Michael Ryan O'Malley.

Andrea Musulin  Andrea Musulin Executive Officer

Andrea is the longest serving member of Protective Behaviours WA and joined the organisation in 1993.  Andrea is highly regarded in WA  as a powerful trainer and  successful advocate and innovator in the prevention of child sexual abuse.

Andrea has been a police officer for 20 years and has extensive experience in the field of child sexual and physical abuse both in a proactive and reactive manner. As a mother of 6 children and a grandmother of one she brings to the organisation a wealth of knowledge and an undying commitment to  the protection of children across  WA.

Andrea also has extensive experience in the Domestic Violence field and currently chairs the Family Violence Prevention Legal Service in the Gascoyne.

Andrea has been highly commended for her services to women and children and has earnt numerous  nominations in recognition of her contribution to the protection of women & children across WA.
